MEETING AREVA 2010 : take off is imminent

Paris, France. July 7, 2010. Source: Agence Blanco Negro. (IKKOSPORTS).- For its 2010 edition the MEETING AREVA will be bringing the best of world athletics to Paris… an explosive cocktail which will rock the Stade de France track to its core on 16th July.

Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter who sets running tracks alight and sends stopwatches into turmoil, will be the star of the evening. Already his good humour has won over the spectators from the 2009 edition. This year the Stade de France will continue to be his favourite arena, but his sights will also extend beyond it to the French capital itself.

Decidedly this MEETING AREVA 2010 will be marked by the stars since it will also be the site where the final scene from the Régis Wargnier film “La ligne droite” (The Straight Line) with Rachida Brakni will be shot.

Within the context of his coming to the MEETING AREVA, the fastest man in the world will take to the streets of Paris… From 1500 hours, the Jamaican athlete will head for the COURIR shop on the Champs-Elysées for the presentation of his new collection “Bolt Collection” designed by Usain BOLT and PUMA, where he will participate in an autograph signing.

The cinema takes a star role in the stadium

LIGHTS… CAMERA… ACTION… the 2010 edition of the MEETING AREVA is playing host to an unusual event: a cinema film shoot! At 1950 hrs, the film-maker Régis Wargnier will film the final scene of his latest work “The straight line”. The scene : the 400 metres by a visually impaired runner and his guide, played by Rachida BRAKNI. For the actors, it will be a perilous exercise: filming one scene in a single take, live and in front of the public, with the physical demands imposed by a 400 metre race combined with the control required to perfect the technique of a ‘guided race’. The spectators in the Stade de France will play the extras for an evening and the resulting feature-length film is set to hit the big screen in March 2011. This unique performance will have the support of AREVA, partner to the production.

Focus on the track and its events

The spectators from the MEETING AREVA – will be especially well looked after this year. They’ll receive various information to understand and better appreciate the spectacle played out by the athletes on the track in front of them, whilst benefiting from the LIVE atmosphere of the stadium. => The presentation of events will be put together as an interactive TV show: Giant screens will broadcast the video and graphic modules, which will present the athletes and their events, explain the new Samsung Diamond League format and provide a regular indication of the performances achieved… The whole thing will be punctuated by a musical schedule which will set the tone for the soirée. The orchestration of this festive programme is to be provided by the teams from the MEGAPHONE agency.

Usain BOLT makes his mark

The world record holder over 100 and 200 metres has just joined the Etoiles des plus Grands (Greatest Stars) on the Stade de France Boulevard! His footprints will now be visible in the Stade de France alongside those personalities who have played a key role in the history of the Stadium. Over 35 footprints visible: Sportsmen and women: Usain Bolt, the French Team 98, Christophe Dominici, Raphaël Ibanez and Fabien Pelous. Musicians: the groups Kassav', Indochine and Muse.
